Silent Symphony (Wapiti, WY)
This was painted from a reference photo I took near East Yellowstone one stormy summer evening. Glowing yellow flowers bloomed endlessly in the ruts of the trail even though the sky cast a muted grey over the landscape. The contrasting beauty of the delicate wildflowers amidst the rugged landscape, and the lingering scent of pine, are etched in my memory.
